- game state
player
- Players refer to roles in a game. For example, in chess, the players can be referred to as white and black, after the color of the tokens they control.
- tokens
- Tokens refer to pieces that can be moved around in a game. Tokens can have any number of sides >= 1. Cards are a particular type of token that has 2 sides. In a traditional board game, a token would be any physical piece, like chess pieces, meeples, coins, and cards.
- containers
- Containers refer to positions that tokens can occupy in a game. In a card game, the positions might include the draw deck, discard deck, player hands, and player play areas.
